Undefeated heavyweight prospect Deontay Wilder scored an easy first-round knockout of hapless Kertson Manswell in the main event of a Golden Boy Live! card from Mobile, Ala., on Saturday.

Wilder (24-0, 24 knockouts) kept his perfect KO streak going by dropping the 35-year-old journeyman three times in the opening round of the Fox Sports Net-televised bout. Wilder, a 27-year-old 2008 Olympic bronze medalist from Tuscaloosa, Ala., began the round working his jab. The 6-foot-7 puncher wobbled Kerston with the first right hand he landed. Wilder followed up with two more lead rights that put the 6-foot-4 Trinidad and Tobago native down midway through the round.

Kerston (22-6, 17 KOs) got up but was almost immediately caught by a left hook and was dropped a second time. Kerston, whose only strategy seemed to be rushing forward and attempting to hold Wilder, was sent to the canvas a third time after eating a jab-right-jab combination. The bout was stopped following the third knockdown.

Manswell, a 30-to-1 betting underdog, took the fight on ten days notice after undefeated Kelvin Price (13-0) withdrew citing a rib injury in sparring.  

In the co-featured bout of the Fox Sports Net/Fox Deportes broadcast, undefeated featherweight prospect Jayson Velez looked sharp and poised breaking down veteran Leivi Brea to a sixth-round knockout.

Velez (19-0, 14 KOs), a 24-year-old native of Caguas, Puerto Rico, stopped the game southpaw with a single left hook in the sixth round. Brea, of Miami by way of the Dominican Republic, fell to 19-10-3 (10) with the loss.

Also on the card, former 140-pound title challenger Dmitriy Salita broke down Roberto Valenzuela, a veteran of 129 pro bouts according to BoxRec.com, to a fourth-round TKO. Salita (32-1, 18 KOs) used a concentrated body attack to dominate the 39-year-old journeyman from Sonora, Mexico.

Valenzuela fell to 65-63-2 (54) with the loss.
