2004 U.S. Olympian Vicente Escobedo returns to the junior lightweight division where he will face fellow fringe contender Raymundo Beltran in the 10-round main event of the “S├│lo Boxeo Tecate” boxing series on July 9.

The Telefutura-televised card takes place in Denver.

In the co-featured bout of the broadcast, Denver native Ricky Lopez (7-0, 2 knockouts) looks to keep his unbeaten record intact against once-beaten spoiler Derrick Wilson (6-1-2, 2 KO's), of Ft. Myers, Fla., in a six-round junior featherweight bout.

Escobedo (22-2, 14 KOs) has won 13 of his last 14 bouts, the lone defeat being a split-decision loss lightweight contender Michael Katsidis last September.

Beltran (23-4, 15 KOs), a native of Los Mochis, Mexico who now makes his home in Phoenix, is a punishing puncher whose last seven wins have come by knockout. Beltran, a regular sparring partner for Manny Pacquiao, is fresh off of a seventh-round stoppage of prospect David Torres in January.
