Both Regis Prograis and Devin Haney cleared the first hurdle to their WBC junior welterweight title fight, making weight on Friday ahead of their fight on Saturday night.

Defending champion Prograis (29-1, 24 knockouts) came in officially at 139 pounds while the former undisputed lightweight champion Haney (30-0, 15 KOs) came in at the 140-pound limit. The fight is the second defense of the title for Prograis, 34, of Houston, Tex. after he won it with an eleventh round knockout of Jose Zepeda in November of 2022.

Prograis is rated no. 2 by The Ring at 140 pounds while Haney is fighting for the first time at 140 pounds since vacating his belts following a close decision win over Vasiliy Lomachenko in May.

Both fighters had coarse language for each other after the ceremonial weigh-in, with Haney dismissing the incumbent champion and saying that there would be a “party in the Bay Area” on Saturday, and Prograis taking the microphone to taunt the crowd by shouting “F–k the Haneys.”

“He’s a bum. Tomorrow I’m gonna show that he’s a f—king bum,” said Haney.

Prograis added that he was “supremely confident” ahead of what amounts to his biggest fight to date.

The fight will headline a DAZN pay-per-view card from the Chase Center in San Francisco, which is Haney’s hometown.

Three other bouts will be part of the broadcast.

Liam Paro (23-0, 14 KOs) came in at the 140-pound limit for his 12-round bout with Montana Love (18-1-1, 9 KOs), who weighed the exact same weight as well. Paro of Brisbane, Australia is fighting for the first time in 14 months following his first round knockout win over Brock Jarvis, while Love of Cleveland, Ohio is fighting for the first time in 13 months after his bizarre disqualification loss to Steve Spark, whom he threw over the top rope like he was competing in the Royal Rumble.

Olympic gold medalist Andy Cruz (1-0) came in at 134.4 pounds for his second pro fight, while Jovanni Straffon (26-5-1, 19 KOs) weighed in at 134 pounds even for their ten-round bout. Cruz, 28, of Miami, Fla. by way of Matanzas, Cuba made his highly anticipated pro debut in July, winning a unanimous decision over Juan Carlos Burgos.

Straffon, 30, of Mexico City scored his biggest win in May of 2021 when he stopped James Tennyson in one round in Manchester, England.

Rounding out the broadcast, Ebanie Bridges (9-1, 4 KOs) weighed in at 117.8 pounds for her vacant IBF bantamweight title fight against Miyo Yoshida (16-4), who weighed 117.6 pounds.
