TOLEDO, Ohio – If their weights are any indication of their physical preparation going into their fight Saturday, both Jared “Big Baby” Anderson (14-0, 14 KOs) and “Prince” Charles Martin (29-3, 26 KOs) appear to be fit and ready.

Anderson, 23, weighed in at 234.4 pounds. The Toledo native weighed in at 247.5 pounds ahead of his April 2023 fight against Luis Arias, who was stopped in three rounds.

Martin, 37, who took this fight on 12 days notice and is coming off a near 10-month layoff, appeared to be in great shape, weighing in at 250.5 pounds – nearly 10 pounds less than when he weighed ahead of his September 2022 fight against Toledo’s Devin Vargas. Martin stopped Vargas in the fourth round.

Following the weigh-in, Martin told RingTV that his January 2022 loss to Luis Ortiz reinvigorated him.

“That really changed my outlook on the sport of boxing and rekindled the fire, you know what I mean? And the love for it. So I am back, man, and I am here for real to fulfill my destiny of becoming the heavyweight champion two times.”
