Danny Garcia vs Robert Guerrero fukuda

Hard-luck title challenger Robert Guerrero returns Aug. 27 against David Peralta in a PBC on Spike TV triple-header (9 p.m. ET) at welterweight from the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.

The televised portion of the card also includes a pair of crossroads bouts between journeymen and prospects. Battle-tested veterans Alfredo Angulo (24-5, 20 knockouts) and Freddy Hernandez (33-8, 22 KOs) will clash, as will former U.S. Olympian Terrell Gausha and ex-amateur standout Steven Martinez.

Guerrero (33-4-1, 18 knockouts) has lost three of his last four fights but it isn’t like he’s fighting tomato cans. The former two-division champion has come up short against Floyd Mayweather Jr., Keith Thurman and Danny Garcia. His last win was a split decision victory against Aaron Martinez in June of 2015. In the Argentine Peralta (25-2-1, 14 KOs), the 33-year-old is facing someone who has never fought outside of his home country and doesn’t come close to matching the experience that Guerrero boasts.

Experience is the operative word for the middleweight co-feature. While it’s clear Angulo’s best days are behind him, at least he’s fighting someone who can say the same in Hernandez, who at one point lost six straight to top opposition from 2012-2014. The 37-year-old Hernandez has won three straight, the last a majority decision victory against Todd Manuel, who was 10-7-1. Angulo, 33, is also on the upswing with two straight victories against foes who each sported double digit losses.

A former 2012 U.S. Olympian, Gausha (18-0, 9 KOs) will face the heavy-handed Martinez (16-2, 13 KOs)at 154 pounds; Martinez is a former national golden Gloves champion from the Bronx, who once worked as a hot dog vender for the Mets.
