Barclays Center CEO Brett Yormark said he is "excited" to host the Ruslan Provodnikov's June 14 WBO 140-pound title defense against Chris Algieri in front of "the large Russian community in Brooklyn" that he expects to support the man known as "The Siberian Rocky."

Provodnikov (23-2, 19 knockouts) will be the HBO-televised headliner Algieri (19-0, 8 KOs), of Huntington, N.Y., with the co-main featuring British junior middleweight contender Brian Rose (25-1, 7 KOs) challenging WBO titleholder Demetrius Andrade (20-0, 13 KOs).

The undercard will feature unbeaten light heavyweight Seanie Monagahan (21-0, 14 KOs), of Long Beach, N.Y., against an opponent to be determined, as well as Brooklyn middleweight Simeon Hardy (11-0, 8 KOs) and female junior featherweight Heather Hardy (9-0, 2 KOs), who are not related.

"We are excited to continue hosting such great boxing events at Barclays Center," said Yormark, during a press conference at the venue's Geico Atrium. "Between the large Russian community in Brooklyn coming out to support Ruslan, and the other local fighters on the card, we expect a great crowd and a lot of excitement in Brooklyn on June 14. I also want to thank our boxing partner Golden Boy Promotions for graciously enabling us to host this fight for the boxing fans of this borough.”

In order for Provodnikov-Algieri to happen at Barclays, Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer — whose organization has an exclusive promotional deal with the venue — informed RingTV.com that Barclays CEO Brett Yormark requested his okay.

"I am very excited to be fighting in Brooklyn at Barclays Center and look forward to this fight very much," said Provodnikov. "I know a lot of my fans from Russia will be flying in to see this great event. I also hope that my fans from the United States, including the great Russian community in Brooklyn, will be there to support me."

In his past two fights, Provodnikov scored a 12th-round knockdown during a unanimous-decision loss to WBO welterweight titleholder Tim Bradley in RingTV.com's 2013 Fight of the Year, followed by a 10th-round stoppage over Mike Alvarado for his current belt. Algieri was last in the ring for a unanimous decision over Emmanuel Taylor in February.

"I cannot wait for June 14," said Algieri. "Ruslan is a great champion and a feared and avoided guy in the junior welterweight division, which is exactly why I am eager for the chance to fight him.  I am ready."

In his last fight in November, Andrade rose from a first round knockdown for a split-decision victory over previously unbeaten Vanes Martirosyan, earning his title in the process.

Rose (25-1-1, 7 KOs), of Blackpool, Lancashire, England, will be fighting outside the United Kingdom for the first time, entering his first title bout with a four-year, 11 fight winning streak.
