Eddie Chambers outboxed an aggressive Samuel Peter to win a majority decision in a 10-round heavyweight fight Friday night in Los Angeles.

Chambers (34-1, 18 knockouts) didn't hurt Peter (30-3, 23 KOs) the entire fight but scored regularly with his jab and effective counter punches.

Two judges scored it for Chambers, 96-94 and 99-91, and the third had it 95-95.

With the victory, Chambers keeps himself in position to challenge for a world title.

Peter, a former titleholder, has now lost two consecutive fights and his future is uncertain. He was stopped by Vitali Klitschko in October.

The Nigerian had more life against Chambers than he did against Klitschko, fighting aggressively and landing some jabs and good body punches.

However, Chambers did a good job of moving out of harm's way while landing enough of his own punches — snapping jabs and occasional hard punches — to win the fight.
