Gor Yeritsyan is hoping a statement win can send a message to the rest of the welterweight division.

The unbeaten Yeritsyan will face Luis Alberto Veron on November 9, 360 Boxing Promotions announced Monday afternoon. The eight-round bout will take place at The Hulu Theatre inside Madison Square Garden in New York City.

In the main event, unbeaten junior middleweight Callum Walsh of Cork, Ireland will square off against once-beaten Ismael Villarreal of New York City in a 10-round bout. Both fights will stream live on UFC Fight Pass.

“We are excited to have Gor fight on this special show in New York City,” said Tom Loeffler, who is the head of 360 Boxing Promotions. “Trained by Hall of Famer, Freddie Roach, Gor has terrific opportunities ahead of him. He knows how important it is to make an impression fighting at Madison Square Garden and in front of the great New York boxing fans. We look for big things to come and this matchup with Luis Alberto Veron will provide an excellent challenge to his recent knockout performances.”

“We’ve had an overwhelming response to this event since its announcement and the excitement level from fans and media has only continued to grow in anticipation of fight night on November 9.”

Yeritsyan (16-0, 14 knockouts), who is originally from Yerevan, Armenia, last fought on August 26, knocking out Rogelio Jun Doliguez in the second round. Yeritsyan ended matters with a punch to the body. In his previous fight on June 9, Yeritsyan dropped Gustavo David Vittori multiple times before ending matters in the second round. The win over Vittori came after a two and a half year hiatus from the ring.

The 28-year-old has improved his skillset under the tutelage of Roach. He hopes to make a statement at the expense of Veron and give the partisan crowd something to cheer about that night at Madison Square Garden.

“I’m very excited to be fighting at the ‘Mecca of Boxing,’ Madison Square Garden,” said Yeritsyan. “My promoter, 360 Promotions, has matched me with a very good opponent, he has great experience and has fought some world class fighters.

“My training camp with Freddie at Wild Card Boxing Gym is going very well. I’m confident I’ll be victorious. New York has a big Armenian community and I look forward to putting on a memorable show for them and the fans watching on UFC Fight Pass.”

Veron (20-7-2, 9 KOs), who resides in Buenos Aires, Argentina, lost by unanimous decision to Brian Ceballo in his last bout on April 27. The 31-year-old has lost four of his last five bouts, with the other two losses coming at the hands of Alexis Rocha and Shohjajon Ergashev.

360 Boxing Promotions also announced unbeaten light heavyweight prospect Umar Dzambekov (7-0, 5 KOs), a 25-year-old southpaw who grew up in Austria, will square off against Frederic Julan (13-2, 10 KOs) of France in an eight-round bout.

In an eight-round junior welterweight bout, hard-hitting Cain Sandoval (10-0, 10 KOs) of Sacramento will face Wesley Ferrer (17-1-1, 8 KOs) of Brooklyn, New York.
