Earlier this month, it was announced that Randy Petalcorin and Felix Alvarado would square off for the vacant IBF junior flyweight title in Melbourne, Australia, on October 20.

However promoter Peter Maniatis has informed RingTV.com that there has been a change of date and venue. The fight will take place one day later on October 21 and will now be in Manila.

“The IBF world title fight between Petalcorin and Alvarado was scheduled for Melbourne, Australia, on October 21 but because of a better proposal to stage the fight in Manila, Philippines, we decided to change location to Manila.” said Maniatis.

“I would like to thank Senator Manny Pacquiao and (matchmaker) Sean Gibbons along with (Pacquiao aide) Joe Ramos and (Sanman Promotions CEO) Jim Manangquil for making it possible to stage the IBF title fight in Manila.”

The much-anticipated encounter pits two of the danger men of the junior flyweight division and promises fireworks.
