A junior welterweight matchup between Antonio Orozco and Martin Honorio has been added to the May 15 "Ringside at Del Mar" card in Del Mar, Calif., Golden Boy Promotions announced on Wednesday.
The bout was originally scheduled to take place on the April 26 undercard of the Keith Thurman-Julio Diaz fight in Carson, Calif., but was canceled due to "visa issues."
Orozco-Honorio will now headline the Golden Boy Live! show on Fox Sports 1 originally featuring Manuel Avila vs. David De La Mora as the main event. That fight will be bumped into a co-feature slot.
Orozco (19-0, 15 KOs) will be in his fourth 10-rounder to date and is currently on a seven-knockout streak. The 26-year-old will enjoy the support of a hometown crowd when he faces Honorio (32-8-1, 16 KOs), who hasn't been in the ring since July 2012. Honorio's two bouts before the layoff were back-to-back losses to former junior lightweight titeholder Juan Carlos Salgado and current IBF titlist Argenis Mendez.
The event, which takes place at the Del Mar Fair Grounds, will also feature several local talents from the San Diego area. Tickets are priced at $29, $45, $60 and $75 plus applicable taxes and service charges, and can be purchased at Ticketmaster.com, ringsideatdelmar.com, or by calling (858) 792-4252.
