WBC President Jose Sulaiman still was recovering on Sunday from “complications” of double bypass surgery that took place earlier this month at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, according to his son, WBC Secretary General, Mauricio Sulaiman.

“He had surgery, and then some complications delayed his progress very much, but he’s moving along very good. He’s very strong and he’s fighting. They’re telling us to be patent,” Mauricio Sulaiman told RingTV.com of a procedure he said took place on Oct. 1.

“The whole family, my mom, and all of the kids, we’re all here. So we’ve been struggling, but thanks to God, he’ll come out okay. He is fighting very hard. He has been in the ICU for three weeks. He is recovering, slowly, but he’s moving along, and the recovery is going very well.”

Jose Sulaiman turned 82 on May 30.
