Ray Ximenez-Luis Alberto Lopez bout set for Feb. 28 in Washington

Ray Ximenez will face Luis Alberto Lopez in a 10-round featherweight clash on Feb. 28.
The bout will take place at the Legends Casino in Toppernish, Washington, and will headline a UFC Fight Pass telecast (10:00 p.m. ET/ 7:00 p.m. PT).
Ximenez (18-1, 4 knockouts) has not fought since defeating veteran German Meraz over eight one-sided rounds in his home city of Dallas on July 28.
The 26-year-old Ximenez, who signed a promotional deal with Roy Jones Jr. Promotions last year, has won his last five bouts since a close eight-round unanimous decision loss to former world junior lightweight title challenger Christopher Diaz in April 2016.
Thursday night will mark his fifth fight outside of Texas.
Lopez (16-1, 8 KOs), who resides in Mexicali, Mexico, stopped overmatched Yahir Patino in Round 5 of his last bout on Dec. 15. Like Ximenez, he has lost only once in his pro career, a split decision to Abraham Montoya on Mar. 24. Since then, Lopez has won four straight bouts.
“Ximenez versus Lopez is a very competitive and evenly-matched fight,” said Roy Jones Jr. Promotions matchmaker Guy Taylor. “This match-up is exactly what fight fans on UFC Fight Pass can expect to see from Roy Jones Jr. Boxing Promotions.”
Also on the telecast will be a four-round clash between unbeaten light heavyweights John Peak (3-0, 1 KO) and Juan Jackson (1-0). Both fighters reside in Washington state.
Hard-hitting welterweight Nicolas Jefferson (7-0, 5 KOs) of Tacoma will face Antonio Neal (4-9, 3 KOs) in a four-round bout.
Unbeaten Shae Green (3-0-1, 1 KO) will square off against Gerardo Esquivel (0-1) in a four-round junior welterweight bout.
