Less than two years after competing in the 2016 Olympic Games, Christian Mbilli will be fighting for a regional title belt.

Mbilli (10-0, 10 knockouts) will face Ramon Aguinaga in a clash of unbeaten middleweights at the Theatre du Tivoli in Le Cannet, France, on Friday. The eight-round bout will air live on SFR SPORT throughout France.

This will be the fourth fight of 2018 for Mbilli, who represented France in Rio de Janeiro. Originally from Cameroon, and now based in Montreal, the hot young prospect then signed a promotional contract with Groupe Yvon Michel.

The 23-year-old Mbilli last fought on May 19 in Toronto and stopped Argentina’s Marcos Jesus Cornejo in the third round. So far, none of his fights have gone past the fourth round.

Aguinaga (13-0, 9 KOs), who resides in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, has predominantly competed as a super middleweight.

In his last bout, on Apr. 7, Aguinaga traveled to Alta Gracia, Argentina, and stopped Guillermo Andino in eight. He has also scored a majority decision victory over Shakeel Phinn, a stablemate of Mbilli.

Welterweight Jose Gomez (15-0, 6 KOs) will face his first serious test as a pro when he squares off against former junior lightweight contender Jose Guadalupe Rosales in an eight-round bout.

Junior middleweight Dylan Charrat (16-0, 4 KOs) will face Lyes Chaibi (15-11-3, 3 KOs) in a six-round bout.
