Jarrett Hurd has finally settled on an opponent for Nov. 12.

After brief dalliances with Jorge Cota and Willie Nelson, Hurd (18-0, 12 knockouts) is now scheduled to face former title challenger Jo Jo Dan in a 10-round junior middleweight bout in a PBC on Spike (9 p.m. ET) broadcast, it was announced on Wednesday.

The show is headlined by Danny Garcia’s stay-busy non-title fight against Samuel Vargas at Temple University’s Liacouras Center in Philly. Former junior lightweight titleholder Javier Fortuna (30-1-1, 22 KOs) will also appear on the broadcast against rising prospect Omar Douglas (17-0, 12 KOs).

Hurd was previously scheduled to face Cota, a knockout artist from Mexico who had to withdraw after an emergency appendectomy procedure, according to a press release announcing the change of opponents. Nelson was then contacted for the fight but turned it down last week, citing not enough time to prepare, he told RingTV.com on Wednesday. Nelson, who is just 29, said in a brief phone interview that he is stepping away from the sport to reevaluate his career. The Cleveland native was stopped in the 12th round by Demetrius Andrade in June.

Montreal’s Dan (35-3, 18 KOs) is rising in weight to face the streaking Hurd, who has stopped the previously undefeated Oscar Molina and Frank Galarza in his last two fights. Dan, a southpaw, was stopped in four rounds by welterweight titleholder Kell Brook in March of 2015 and will have his hands full with the larger Hurd.
