Junior featherweight Carlos Morales will fight former featherweight contender Luis Franco on Aug. 5, Golden Boy Promotions matchmaker Robert Diaz told RingTV on Monday.

The 10-round bout will take place at the Belasco Theater in Los Angeles, California. Estrella TV will broadcast the fight, beginning at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT.

Morales (13-1-3, 6 knockouts), who resides in nearby Highland Park, has won 13 fights straight after going winless in his first four bouts as a pro. Those four bouts consisted of split and majority decision draws and a loss.

In his last bout on Feb. 19, Morales won a one-sided, 10-round decision over Omar Tienda of Mexico.

The 26-year-old Morales has also beaten modest prospects, including Gabriel Tolmajyan, Santiago Guevara and Emanuel Gonzalez.

Franco (14-1-1, 9 KOs) would be a significant step up in opposition for Morales.

The 34-year-old from Miami, Florida, is unbeaten in his last four bouts since a 12-round split decision loss to Mauricio Munoz in October of 2012.

Franco does have a draw against former WBA junior featherweight titleholder Javier Fortuna and a split decision win over former fringe contender Leonilo Miranda.

In the “Boxeo Estelar” co-feature, unbeaten featherweight Joet Gonzalez (13-0, 6 KOs) will face Sergio Lopez (20-10-1, 13 KOs) in a 10-round bout.

Highly-touted amateur Angel Bojado will make his pro debut in a four-round bout. Bojado is the younger brother of Francisco Bojado.

RingTVLive.com will air the entire Golden Boy Promotions card, beginning at 5:30 p.m. PT.
