Antonio Orozco to return to Fantasy Springs on March 25
Unbeaten junior welterweight Antonio Orozco will return to the ring on March 25, manager Frank Espinoza told RingTV.
The 10-round bout will take place at the Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio, Calif.
“We haven’t secured an opponent but (matchmaker) Robert (Diaz) is looking for an opponent for Antonio,” said the longtime Southern California-based manager.
The bout will top a Golden Boy Promotions card and will be televised live on Estrella TV and RingTVLive.com.
Orozco (23-0, 15 knockouts) fought twice in 2015, securing impressive wins over solid opposition. In his last bout on Oct. 3 in Carson, Calif., Orozco won a 10-round unanimous decision over multi-division titleholder Humberto Soto.
The San Diego, Calif. resident won a hard-fought 10-round unanimous decision over Emmanuel Taylor on May 15 in Phoenix, Ariz.
Orozco is ranked among the Top 10 by three of the four major sanctioning bodies. He is currently ranked No. 9 by THE RING magazine.
No word yet on whom will round out the remainder of the Golden Boy Promotions card.
