Is Gennady Golovkin underestimating David Lemieux?

Fair to say that most everyone who checked him out, saw his demeanor, heard his rap, were impressed by David Lemieux when we saw him in New York City on Tuesday.

Such as, when he was asked about something said by Gennady Golovkin trainer Abel Sanchez.

Sanchez said he didn’t think the Canadian was making it out of round four when they face off Oct. 17 at Madison Square Garden and on HBO Pay-Per-View.

“It’s very immature on his behalf because Gennady is going in with a serious guy,” the 26-year-old Lemieux said, “and it’s not the fighter saying it; it’s the coach and it’s very immature and he’s going to eat his words in the fight.”

He said this without an obvious spike in blood pressure. This sort of calmness is having more people believe maybe Lemeiux can derail the Golovkin Express. That’s not my train of thought…but I love his badassery.
