Former IBF light heavyweight titleholder Tavoris Cloud will try to win his first fight in over two-and-a-half years against undefeated Artur Beterbiev on Sept. 27 at Bell Centre in Montreal, promoter Yvon Michel informed RingTV.com on Wednesday.

The 32-year-old Cloud (24-2, 19 knockouts) lost the IBF light heavyweight title in a unanimous decision loss to Bernard Hopkins in March 2013 and stopped in the seventh round of his following fight last September by RING champion Adonis Stevenson.

Beterbiev (5-0, 5 KOs) has faced just one fighter with a record above .500 and has two stoppage victories in the first round as well as one each in the second, third and fourth rounds.

Beterbiev, 29, is coming off a first round knockout of Alvaro Enriquez on August 22.

ANTHONY JOSHUA HAS OPPONENT FOR SEPT. 13

British Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua will pursue his eighth consecutive knockout in as many wins against Konstantin Airich in a heavyweight bout at the Phones 4u Arena in Manchester, England on Sept. 13, according to a release by Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport.

In the main event, THE RING’s number four-rated junior featherweight Scott Quigg will face Stephane Jamoye.

The 24-year-old Joshua (7-0, 7 KOs) is coming off last month’s second round knockout of Matt Skelton and is already scheduled to face Michael Sprott on Oct. 11 at O2 Arena’s Millenium Dome in Greenwich, London.

Airich (21-9-2, 17 KOs), 35, has lost five of his past seven fights, during which time he had suffered a 44-second stoppage loss to Manuel Charr in December 2012.

Airich was also unanimously decisioned by Odlanier Solis and Vyacheslav Glazkov in consecutive fights in May and September 2012, respectively, and is coming off last month’s unanimous decision loss to Denis Bakhtov.

Quigg, 25, is 7-0-2 with seven knockouts in his past nine fights and was last in action for a second round technical knockout of Tshifhiwa Munyai in April at Phones 4u Arena.

Quigg will be making his third consecutive appearance at the venue against Jamoye, 24, who is coming off a 75-second knockout of Richard Voros in June that followed a ninth round stoppage loss to RING number two-rated bantamweight and WBC titlist Shinsuke Yamanaka.

Also on the card are a lightweight bout between Andy Crolla and former titleholder Gamaliel Diaz, lightweight Scotty Cardle meeting Kirk Goodings and welterweight Sam Eggington being matched with Denton Vassell.

JOSH WARRINGTON SIGNS WITH MATCHROOM BOXING

Josh Warrington (18-0, 2 KOs) has signed a five-fight deal with Matchroom Boxing in advance of his Oct. 4 fight with Davide Dieli (15-3, 5 KOs) for the vacant European featherweight title. The bout will support a main event featuring former lightweight titleholder Ricky Burns against an opponent to be determined at the First Direct Arena in Leeds, England, according to Matchroom Sport.

“It’s been a brilliant year for me and I hope I can end it in style on Oct. 4,” said Warrington, 23. “It’s great to have signed the deal so that I know that there’s going to be more big nights in Leeds in the next year.”
