Welterweight Sammy Vazquez Jr. scored an eighth-round knockdown during Friday’s ninth-round stoppage of James Stevenson in a clash of unbeaten prospects at CONSOL Energy Center before his hometown fans in Pittsburgh, Pa.

Promoted by Mike Tyson’s Iron Mike Productions, Vasquez fought Stevenson in the main event of a Fox Sports 1-televised card. Fighting for the fifth time this year, Vasquez (16-0, 11 knockouts) earned his his seventh consecutive knockout victory against Stevenson (21-1, 14 KOs).

Stevenson represented the third undefeated fighter who has been knocked out by Vasquez in his past four appearances.
