Gennady Golovkin knocked out his 16^th consecutive opponent and defended his WBA title for the 10^th time when he stopped Osumanu Adama in the seventh round. The undefeated 160-pound beltholder remains THE RING’s No. 1-rated middleweight.

A recap of this weekend’s fights:

Middleweight: Golovkin (29-0, 26 knockouts) stopped unrated Adamu (22-4, 16 KOs) in the seventh round on Saturday in Monte Carlo. Golovkin is rated No. 1 and remains so. On the Golovkin-Adama undercard, unrated Jarrod Fletcher (18-1, 10 KOs) won a close 12-round unanimous decision over No. 8-rated Max Bursak (29-2-1, 12KOs). Bursak will be removed from the ratings. Curtis Stevens (26-4, 19 KOs), who blasted unrated Patrick Majewski in one round last weekend, will move up to No. 8. Hassan N’Dam N’Jikam (28-1, 19 KOs) will move up to No. 9. Billy Joe Saunders (19-0, 10 KOs) will enter the ratings at No. 10.

Lightweight: Adrien Broner (27-1, 22 KOs), who has not fought at lightweight since defending the WBC title against Gavin Rees last February,  will be removed from the 135-pound rankings. The WBC belt that Broner held was transferred to interim beltholder Omar Figueroa by the sanctioning organization. Recently unretired former unified titleholder Juan Diaz (38-4, 19 KOs) reenters the rankings at No. 10.

Junior lightweight: No. 3-rated Rances Barthelemy (20-0, 13 KOs) has his controversial second-round KO of No. 8-rated Argenis Mendez (21-3-, 11 KOs) changed to a No Contest by the state agency that regulates boxing in Minnesota, where their fight took place. It was determined that the knockout punch was thrown after the bell had rung ending the second round. The IBF title reverted to Mendez and the IBF ordered a rematch. No change in ratings.

Junior bantamweight: No. 8-rated Oleydong Sithsamerchai (52-1-1, 18 knockouts) stopped an unrated fighter known only as Sandeep in the fourth round. No changes.

Junior flyweight: unrated Rey Loreto (18-13, 10 KOs) upset No. 10-rated Nkosinathi Joyi (24-3, 17 KOs) stopping him in three. Joyi will now drop from the ratings and Fahlan Sakkreerin, Jr. (23-2, 15 KOs) will enter at No. 10.
