RING/WBC light heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson could pursue his 11th consecutive knockout against Chicago-based contender Andrzej Fonfara on May 24 in accordance with an earlier report by ringTV.com, Stevenson's promoter Yvon Michel informed RingTV.com on Friday.

"Nothing has changed. I haven't spoken to [Fonfara’s promoter Leon] Margules since the last time. We have secured the date with HBO for May 24, and we have secured the Bell Centre. Now, we'll talk with Margules sometime next week," said Michel.

A 36-year-old southpaw, Stevenson (23-1, 20 knockouts) scored four stoppage victories over the course of 2013 and is coming off November's sixth-round knockout of Tony Bellew

The 26-year-old Fonfara (25-2, 15 KOs), meanwhile, has won 15 straight, 12 of them by stoppage.

Fonfara was last in action during December's second-round knockout of Samuel Miller that followed a ninth-round stoppage of ex-beltholder Gabriel Campillo in August. Fonfara last suffered defeat against Derrick Findley by second-round knockout in July of 2008.

Fonfara is in line to face Dmitry Sukhotsky in an eliminator for the right to face IBF 175-pound beltholder Bernard Hopkins, but Michel said Fonfara's promoter has pulled out of that situation after having begun discussions for a shot at Stevenson.
