Former light heavyweight champ Jean Pascal, once-beaten middleweight David Lemieux, and undefeated 175-pounder Eleider Alvarez will compete on the undercard of the HBO-televised main event between RING and WBC light heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson and Tavoris Cloud in at Bell Centre in Montreal on Sept. 28, promoter Yvon Michel informed RingTV.com on Thursday.

Pascal (27-2-1, 16 KOs) is coming off a unanimous-decision triumph over Aleksy Kuziemski last December after losing to Bernard Hopkins in May of 2011, and is slated for a clash with former IBF super middleweight titleholder Lucian Bute (31-1, 24 KOs) on Jan. 18. On Sept. 28, Pascal will face George Blades (23-4, 16 KOs) in a bout that will take place at 180 pounds, according to Michel.

“Jean Pascal will be on the show on Sept. 28 fighting a little bit over the weight. Jean Pascal is a professional fighter, and he’s fit to fight and he’s in good condition. He didn’t sign with us because he was injured and put into a holding position. We came to a decision that it was going to be good for him to take a fight instead of just waiting. It’s going to be easy to get motivated and to be in the gym because he’s going to want to look good against George Blades,” said Michel.

“Jean will use that as preparation a Bute fight that will be on Jan. 18. It’s important for him to be active. If something happens, and the Bute fight doesn’t arrive, then he will be ready to fight anybody and be back into the mix of the light heavyweight division where there are a lot of good fighters. Jean Pascal is not a champion right now, but he still is one of the starts of the division. He has good ratings on the network, and he’ll be there for any champion. The priority is for him to be ready for the Bute fight, and that will also revive the rivalry between him and Bute.”

Alvarez (12-0, 8 KOs) will pursue his fourth straight knockout victory against former title challenger Edison Miranda (35-8, 30 KOs), and Lemieux (29-2, 28 KOs) will face Marcus Upshaw (15-10-2, 7 KOs).

Neither the Pascal, Alvarez or Lemieux fights will be televised by HBO, although each will be broadcast on pay per view in Canada, Michel said.

Stevenson-Cloud is part of a tri-site, triple-header on HBO that will begin with former heavyweight titleholder David Haye in an all-English clash with unbeaten 6-foot-9 contender Tyson Fury in Manchester, England, before switching to Stevenson-Cloud, and the final matchup featuring former WBC middleweight titleholder Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. take on Brian Vera in a super middleweight bout in Carson, Calif.
