Guerrero-Thurman possible for Nov. 2?

Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer said he would like to match unbeaten welterweight contender Keith “One Time” Thurman and former titleholder Robert Guerrero in a Nov. 2 bout.
“I am trying to do something with a big fight on Nov. 2… I do have one fight which I think would be great for the fight fans to see, and I don’t know if I can pull it off,” said Schaefer.
“But that would be Robert Guerrero against Keith Thurman. I think that would be just a sensational fight, stylistically, and it would be one of those must-see-TV events. That’s one fight that I’m thinking about.”
Thurman (21-0, 19 knockouts) is coming off last month’s 10th-round knockout of previously unbeaten Diego Chaves for his 10th stoppage in his past 11 bouts.
Guerrero (31-1-1, 18 KOs) was last in the ring in May for a unanimous decision loss to Floyd Mayweather Jr. that ended a 15-bout winning streak which included nine stoppages.
Schaefer would also consider that night for the return of lightweight prospect Omar Figueroa, who is coming off last month’s Fight-of-The-Year-caliber unanimous decision victory over Japan’s Nihito Arakawa.
“Maybe, on the same card, bring Omar Figueroa back,” said Schaefer. “But I am not there yet. I’ll start working on the Nov. 2 card in a couple of weeks.”
