Three-division titlewinner Shane Mosley, 41, said he is strongly considering but has not yet signed a deal for an October fight at 154 pounds in Australia against former three-time titleholder Anthony Mundine.

Mosley (47-8-1, 39 KOs) is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Mexico’s Pablo Cesar Cano in May, but was 0-3-1 in his last four heading into the bout, with losses against Canelo Alvarez, Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr., and a draw with Sergio Mora.

Mundine (44-5, 26 KOs), 38, was last in the ring in January, when he lost by unanimous decision in a rematch with IBF middleweight titleholder Daniel Geale, whom he’d beaten by a controversial split decision in 2009.

“People have been giving me calls about different things, but what’s been on the plate for me is that fight in Australia against Anthony Mundine,” said Mosley, who had informed RingTV.com that he hoped return to action prior to his 42nd birthday on Sept. 7.

“I will be fighting him at 154, and I told them that I would want the fight to happen in the middle of October. I haven’t signed yet, but no money’s been deposited to my account.”

Among Mosley’s career-highs are a pair of victories over Oscar De La Hoya, two consecutive knockouts over Fernando Vargas, and stoppage wins over Antonio Margarito and Ricardo Mayorga. Mosley also has triumphed over world titleholders Jesse James Leija, John John Molina, Phillip Holiday and Luis Collazo, knocking out Leija and Molina in lightweight title bouts.

Mosley’s other losses include two each to Winky Wright and the late Vernon Forrest, as well once against Miguel Cotto.

MOSLEY ON DEVON ALEXANDER-AMIR KHAN BEING CONSIDERED FOR DUBAI

Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer spent some time recently in Dubai in an attempt to work out a proposed Dec. 7 matchup between IBF welterweight titleholder Devon Alexander (25-1, 14 KOs) and former two-division titlewinner Amir Khan (28-3, 19 KOs).

Khan is looking to make his 147-pound debut from the 140-pound division. But if, for some reason the Alexander-Khan deal does not come to fruition, Mosley said he would gladly step in to replace Alexander.

“The rumors are out there. So if it does happen that I get to fight Khan, then there will be problems for him. If it leads to Mayweather, then I’m all for it,” said Mosley.

“Amir Khan’s height won’t be as much of a factor at 147 as it is at 140. Maybe he would be an inch taller than me, but his height wouldn’t be a factor for me. The factor is going to be that I punch harder and that I can knock him out. Age wouldn’t be a factor, as you saw in my last fight against a guy who was just 23.”

CANELO’S SPARRING WITH SHANE MOSLEY JR.

Mosley said that his son, Shane Mosley Jr., a 22-year-old amateur boxer, has sparred with RING 154-pound champion Canelo Alvarez “three or four times” at Mosley’s training center in Big Bear, Calif.

Alvarez is preparing for a Sept. 14 clash with Mayweather on Showtime Pay Per View.

“They’re doing pretty good,” said Mosley, whose son stands 6-foot-1 and weighs 165 pounds. “He’s sparred with him like four times in Big Bear already, and he’s doing good. Canelo’s been there about two weeks, now, maybe.”
