Readers are pretty clear on who they believe has the best chance of beating middleweight dynamo Gennady Golovkin.

Almost seven out 10 (69.4 percent) who took part in the most-recent RING Poll said it is undefeated super middleweight champion Andre Ward “who has the best chance of beating Gennady Golovkin.”

Middleweight champ Sergio Martinez was well behind at 16.2 percent. Still fewer believe Carl Froch (7.8 percent), Peter Quillin (4.7 percent) and Daniel Geale (1.9 percent) would pose much a challenge to Golovkin.

Of course, Golovkin would have to move up from 160 pounds to 168 to face Ward, although they could also agree upon a catch weight. Ultimately, that’s what Golovkin might have to do to secure a real challenge.

Golovkin is coming off a third-round knockout of Matthew Macklin on June 29.

Note: 15,438 took part in the poll.
