In an attempt to goad promotional stablemate, Adrien “The Problem” Broner, into a fight, hard-punching Marcos Maidana has taken to his Twitter account.

“Has anyone heard from Adrien Broner(?)” wrote Maidana (34-3, 31 knockouts) in one of his most recent messages about Broner (27-0, 22 KOs), who is coming off a WBA-title-winning split-decision victory over Paulie “The Magic Man” Malignaggi last month in his welterweight debut.

Maidana also took shots at the fact that Broner is an amateur rapper who regularly posts videos on Youtube, having apparently toured, recently, with the artist Lil Wayne.

“Let’s get this straight with Broner,” wrote Maidana, who, like Broner, is promoted by Golden Boy. “If he doesn’t wanna fight me, he quits the WBA title and I’ll take care of him by buying his rap record.”

Broner could not be reached for an immediate comment, but his trainer, Mike Stafford, informed RingTV.com during an earlier interview, “I would love to fight Maidana. I would love to.”

“Maidana’s the mandatory, so he won’t have to look for Adrien,” said Stafford, on Tuesday. “He ain’t hard to find. We’ll be right there in the ring. We don’t hide from nobody.”

Broner failed to earn his seventh straight stoppage win against Malignaggi, whose five-bout winning streak after rising two weight classes from lightweight. In addition, Broner’s win over Malignaggi made him a three-division titlewinner, having earned his first belt — the WBO’s junior lightweight — by third-round knockout over Vicente Martin Rodriguez in November of 2011.

Maidana’s is coming off a sixth-round knockout of Josesito Lopez last month, which represented his third straight stoppage victory since falling by unanimous decision to current IBF welterweight beltholder Devon Alexander in his 147-pound debut in February of last year.
