Tonight at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT, Showtime will premiere the one-hour documentary 30 days in May, which includes a look into Floyd Mayweather Jr.’s incarceration at the Clark County Detention Center last year.

Wednesday’s airing comes in advance of 36-year-old Mayweather’s May 4 defense of his WBC welterweight belt against two-division titlewinner Robert Guerrero on Showtime Pay Per View.

Mayweather (43-0, 26 knockouts) will have been out of the ring for nearly a year to the day by the time he faces Guerrero (31-1-1, 18 KOs) at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on May 4, having last fought on May 5 of last year when he earned a unanimous decision victory over Miguel Cotto for the WBA’s junior middleweight belt.

The film’s never-before-seen footage features the only interviews Mayweather has conducted about this his prison stint, and takes an intimate look into the life of the world’s highest-paid athlete.

Viewers will glimpse Mayweather’s flamboyant mansion as well as a surprise birthday party for his daughter even as the fighter prepared for life in a jail cell smaller than his bedroom closet.

BERNARD FERNANDEZ TO BE INDUCTED INTO NEW JERSEY’S HALL OF FAME

Congratulations to Bernard Fernandez for his impending induction into The New Jersey Boxing Hall of Fame Class of 2013 with, among others, Mike Tyson, Marvin Hagler and Ray Mercer. The awards dinner will be held on Nov. 14 at the Venetian in Garfield, N.J.

A former President of the Boxing Writers Association of America and longtime writer for The Philadelphia Daily News, Fernandez was also the first media member inducted into the Pennsylvania Boxing Hall of Fame in 2005.

MIKE ALVARADO-BRANDON RIOS, TERENCE CRAWFORD-BREIDIS PRESCOTT TEST NEGATIVE

The collective post-fight drug tests of junior welterweights Mike Alvarado’s, Brandon Rios, Terence Crawford and Breidis Prescott returned negative for anabolic steroids, masking agents and marijuana following the unanimous decision victories by Alvarado and Crawford over Rios and Prescott, respectively, on March 30 at The Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, according to Keith Kizer, executive director of the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

“We also tested all the undercard boxers,” said Kizer. “And we expect those test results soon.”
