Is Wolak fighting Martirosyan?

There are two things that New Jersey junior middleweight Pawel Wolak knows for sure.

One of them is that he is "most definitely fighting" on the card featuring junior middleweight Miguel Cotto in defense of his WBA belt against ex-titleholder Antonio Margarito on Dec. 3 at New York's Madison Square Garden.

The other is that a widely reported fight opposite Vanes Martirosyan (30-0, 19 knockouts) is "not happening."

"I know that people are writing that the contracts were going to be finalized, but we have no idea about that. So it's It's news to us. We have no idea where that came from," said Wolak, who is promoted by Top Rank Inc.

"Basically, it was definitely a surprise. I spoke to my manager, Cameron Dunkin, and he said that it's not a possiblity. Cameron said that he was surprised himelf, and that he had no idea where that came from. So right now, it's not happening. No."

Nicknamed "The Raging Bull," the 29-year-old Wolak (29-1-1, 19 KOs) is coming off of a majority draw with Delvin Rodriguez that took place last month.

Neither Dunkin nor Top Rank Inc. CEO Bob Arum could immediately be reached.

"Cameron told me that we're definitely fighting on Dec. 3, and that I should start getting ready for that, and then we'll figure it all out," said Wolak, who is 8-0-1, with five knockouts in his past nine fights.

"We don't know who we're going to fight. There are a couple of names, but we haven't gotten that far and I don't want to put any names out there."
