Welterweight prospects Alex Saucedo and Clarence Booth will square off on Feb. 13, Top Rank Promotions matchmaker Brad Goodman recently informed RingTV.
The eight-round bout will take place at the Sportsmen’s Lodge in Studio City, a suburb of Los Angeles.
Opening UniMas’ “Solo Boxeo Tecate” telecast will be unbeaten junior lightweight Andy Vences in an eight-round bout against a fighter to be determined.
In his last bout, Saucedo (20-0, 14 KOs) defeated Angel Martinez by unanimous decision in a six-round, stay-busy fight on Oct. 24 in Omaha, Neb.
In his previous fight on Aug. 8, Saucedo stopped fringe contender Edgar Ortega in the third round in Meoqui, Chihuahua, Mexico, where the former was born. Saucedo currently resides in Oklahoma City.
Although the opposition, which comprised his four bouts in 2015, was modest, Top Rank, which promotes Saucedo, believes there is a lot of upside in the 21-year-old.
“We are very high on him,” longtime Top Rank matchmaker Bruce Trampler told RingTV prior to the Ortega fight.
Booth (13-1, 7 KOs) was victorious in his last bout on Oct. 31, decisioning Luis Joel Gonzalez over eight rounds in Kissimmee, Florida, not far from his hometown of Saint Petersburg.
Booth has won his last 11 straight, since his decision loss to Cletus Seldin in Sept. of 2011.
In his last bout on Dec. 5, Vences (14-0, 10 KOs) knocked Manuel Rey Rojas out in the second round. The San Jose, Calif. resident has stopped his last eight opponents in a row.
