Juan Garcia, a one-time prospect out of Phoenix who hasn’t fought in two years, faces Hector Serrano in the six-round lightweight main event on the Fight Night Club card Thursday night at Club Nokia in downtown Los Angeles.

Ramon Valadez, a FNC regular, faces tough journeyman Noe Lopez in the lightweight co-feature.

The card will be televised at 8 p.m. PT / 11 p.m. ET on Fox Sports Net and streamed live on RingTV.com.

Garcia (14-3, five knockouts) was an unbeaten prospect early in 2008 but then lost three consecutive fights to capable opponents, Cornelius Lock (KO 4), Jose Hernandez (TKO 5) and David Rodela (SD). He then left boxing.

Twenty-six months later he’s giving it another try against another fighter whose momentum came to crashing halt. Serrano (13-2, 5 KOs), from Huntington Park, Calif., was 11-0 only 14 months ago but then lost consecutive fights, to Jose Reynoso (KO 8) and Aris Ambriz (UD 8).

The talented Valadez (9-1, 5 KOs) has had no such problems, winning eight consecutive fights after he lost a four-round decision in his second outing. The resident of East Los Angeles can call Club Nokia home, having fought at the night club seven times going into Thursday.

Lopez (7-9, 4 KOs), from Mexico, has a poor record but comes to fight. He is coming off a first-round KO loss to prospect Ronny Rios last month in Las Vegas.

Doors open at 6 p.m. The first bell is at 7 p.m.

Tickets, priced from $25 to $150, may be purchased by calling TicketMaster at 1-800-745-3000, online at www.ticketmaster.com, at any TicketMaster outlet and at the Staples Center box office.
