Lucas Matthysse was inspired to box by his older brother Walter, a former welterweight contender, and learned his craft alongside a current welterweight contender, Marcos Maidana. “If we both move to 147 pounds we’re going to get that offer,” Matthysse said about his former roommate, sparring partner, and occasional amateur opponent. Matthysse faces Ruslan Provodnikov tonight on HBO.
