Erislandy Lara, THE RING’s No. 2-rated junior middleweight, outclassed unrated former title challenger Delvin Rodriguez en route to a shutout 12-round decision on Friday in Chicago. It was a typical Lara performance, lauded by boxing media and purists but booed by fans in attendance. In the “PBC on Spike” co-feature, light heavyweight contender Artur Beterbiev stopped Alexander Johnson in seven rounds.

Top junior middleweight contender Erislandy Lara weighed in at 153.6 pounds for tonight’s “PBC on Spike” main event against Delvin Rodriguez, who weighed 153.4. Light heavyweight Artur Beterbiev weighed in at the division limit of 175 for his co-feature against Alexander Johnson, who weighed 174.2. The 10-bout card takes place in Chicago.

As far as Erisdlany Lara, his team and his small-but-vocal fan base are concerned, the Cuban junior middleweight standout enters his Friday “PBC on SpikeTV” main event against Delvin Rodriguez as an unbeaten fighter. Lara’s only two losses, decisions to Paul Williams and Canelo Alvarez, were controversial.
