Junior middleweight up-and comer Jaime Munguia, THE RING’s 2017 Prospect of the Year, may only be 21 years of age but he fights like a seasoned veteran. And he packs a serious punch.

Munguia is closing in on a world title shot, but first he must overcome Johnny Navarrete at the Arena Jose Sulaiman in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico tonight. The fight will air live on Azteca TV in Mexico and beIN Sports en Espanol (11 p.m. ET/ 8 p.m. PT).

It will be a quick turnaround for Munguia, who is one of the top unbeaten fighters in the Zanfer Promotions stable. He last fought on Feb. 10, knocking out Argentina’s Jose Carlos Paz in the third round.

Munguia (27-0, 23 knockouts) made his U.S. debut on Dec. 9, dropping Paul Valenzuela four times on his way to a second-round knockout in Las Vegas. He is currently ranked No. 9 by the WBC.

Navarrete (33-11-2, 15 KOs) has lost four of his last eight bouts.

In the co-feature, Daniel Valladares (15-1, 9 KOs) will face Erick Zamora (8-7-3, 1 KO) in an eight-round flyweight bout. Valladares resides in Monterrey and has won his last four fights.
