Scottish junior welterweight star Josh Taylor will now face Winston Campos at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland, on March 3 after former two-weight world titleholder Humberto Soto pulled out after sustaining a serious cut in sparring.

In November, Taylor, who is rated No. 9 by THE RING at 140 pounds, became the first fighter to stop former IBF titleholder Miguel Vazquez. The unbeaten southpaw is staying busy as he prepares to crash the world title picture.

“I wish Humberto Soto all the best in his recovery, but now I’m 100 percent focused on Winston Campos,” said Taylor (11-0, 10 knockouts) “Although Campos represents a different challenge, being a rangy southpaw, I’m very confident that I can put on a career best performance next weekend.”

The 25-year-old Winston Campos (30-3-5, 18 KOs) is undefeated over the last four-and-a-half years. The Nicaragua native is known for his all-action style and, despite being a massive underdog, he’s determined to inflict Taylor’s first professional defeat.

“I’m delighted to get this opportunity,” said Campos. “I was in training for another fight when I got the call. I’m coming to Glasgow to shock the world. (Taylor) is talented, no doubt, but I’m cut from a different cloth. I have the style to give him nightmares and I’m very confident.”
