Fight Facts podcast, ep. 12: Goodbye 2017, hello potential

Sweet science pundits Joe Santoliquito, aka “Philly Joe,” and Michael Woods, aka “Brooklyn Mike,” dig up fresh news and dish spicy opinion on all facets of the fight game in this fast-moving boxing podcast. Yes, expect Philly-style decorum and Brooklyn-type diplomacy while they rap about the big bouts and famed fighters.

After a brief review of Philly Joe’s ice-skating prowess and love of pepperoni, conversation in this first podcast of 2018 turns to the best of ’17 — the good, bad and whatever Mayweather-McGregor was. More importantly, what’s up with the next 12 months?

Fight Facts is available on iTunes! (Note: New episodes can take some time to appear and be searchable in the iTunes store, but you’ll get them immediately if you subscribe to the feed.) 2017 was a strong year for boxing. The best bout was Joshua with his dramatic KO over the GREAT Vladimir Klitschko. I thought that the Canelo v. Glovokin bout was exciting, however, Triple-G was robbed. The Erroll Spence victory over Kell Brook set him up for a Welterweight Showdown with Keith Thurman that qualifies as another Super Bout. Srisaket Sor Rungvisai two victories over over P4P king Roman Gonzalez catapulted him into fistic stardom. Finally, Billy Joe Saunders Ali/Tunney like victory over David Lemieux was a real eye opener and I predict great things for Gypsy Joe if he comes into his future bouts in tip-top shape as you need to be when utilizing that much energy that relies on a lot of foot and body movement at high speed.
