Anthony Joshua stopped Eric Molina at 2 minutes, 2 seconds of Round 3 in his second defense of the IBF heavyweight title Saturday in Manchester, England.

Molina (25-4, 19 knockouts) had no interest in engaging Joshua, who patiently looked for openings to land punches. The former Olympic champion landed them here and there in the first few rounds, as Molina was adept at avoiding damaging blows.

And then came the third round. Joshua (18-0, 18 KOs) put Molina down — and hurt him badly — with a straight right midway through the round. Molina was able to get up but then took a pounding until referee Steve Gray ended the slaughter.

Joshua’s victory sets up a showdown with former champion Wladimir Klitschko on April 29 at Wembley Stadium in London.
