Flyweight Joselito Velazquez has an opponent for his pro debut on Dec. 17. Velazquez will face Eduardo Casimero in a six-round bout at the Gran Oasis Arena in Cancun, Quintana Roo, Mexico, manager Frank Espinoza told RingTV Tuesday evening.

Velazquez represented Mexico at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro this past summer, reaching the second round before being eliminated by Hasanboy Dusmatov of Uzbekistan.

The 23-year-old Velazquez, who was a standout soccer player as a teenager before committing to boxing, compiled an amateur record of 138-40.

He signed a promotional contact with Mr. Akihiko Honda and Teiken Promotions in early October.

Casimero (5-3), who resides in Toluca, Mexico, has lost his last two bouts.

In the main event, bantamweights Mariana Juarez (43-9-4, 17 knockouts) and Irma Garcia (16-1-1, 3 KOs) will square off in a 10-round bout.

Former IBF junior middleweight titleholder Carlos Molina (27-6-2, 8 KOs) will face hard-hitting Diego Cruz (17-3-1, 13 KOs) in a 10-round bout. It will be the fifth bout this year for the 13-year veteran Molina, as well as Cruz.

The fight card will air throughout Mexico on Televisa.
