Former lightweight champion Juan “Baby Bull” Diaz has withdrawn from his Dec. 10 HBO co-feature because of an undisclosed injury, a source confirmed to RingTV.com on Friday.

Officials are now scrambling to find an opponent for Ray Beltran, who was scheduled to face Diaz in a lightweight bout on a card headlined by Terence Crawford’s 140-pound defense of his RING/WBO/WBC titles against John Molina Jr. in his hometown of Omaha, Nebraska.

The 33-year-old Diaz (42-4, 21 knockouts) had won seven straight since coming back after a nearly three-year absence following his loss to Juan Manuel Marquez in 2010. Beltran, 35, has won two straight since he was caught doping after he stopped Takahiro Ao last year. The date on HBO was initially scheduled for middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin but extensive talks with mandatory opponent Danny Jacobs pushed Golovkin’s next fight into the first quarter of 2017, making Dec. 10 available.
