Curtis Stevens middleweight crossroads bout with James De La Rosa on the Nov. 19 undercard of Sergey Kovalev’s light heavyweight championship with Andre Ward has been elevated to the HBO PPV broadcast, it was announced on Wednesday.

The bout was initially scheduled to appear on the non-televised undercard but that, apparently, wasn’t acceptable to a number of fans. “After we announced Curtis would be fighting on the untelevised portion of the Kovalev-Ward PPV card, we heard from a lot of fans asking that the fight be moved to TV so they could see Curtis,” Main Events CEO Kathy Duva said in a prepared statement. “What the fans want, the fans get!”

The PPV part of the card at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas is now set with Ward-Kovalev headlining a telecast that also includes light heavyweight contender Isaac Chilemba taking on rising Oleksander Gvozdyk and undefeated junior welterweight Maurice Hooker against Darleys Perez.

The pro debut of two-time U.S. Olympic gold medalist Claressa Shields was under consideration to fill a spot on the PPV but the bout will appear on the “freeview” televised portion of the Nov. 19 card at 7 p.m. ET instead.

Stevens (28-5, 21 knockouts) destroyed previously undefeated Patrick Teixeira in the second round on the Canelo-Klan undercard on HBO this past May after a poor performance against Hassan N’Dam in his previous fight. De La Rosa (23-4, 13 KOs) lost a decision to rising prospect Jason Quigley in May on the same card and has dropped four of his last seven bouts. “I know it is Kovalev-Ward but now it is Kovalev-Ward-Stevens,” Stevens said in the release. “Time to show out!”
