Ricardo Rodriguez and David Quijano to meet again on Friday

Junior bantamweights Ricardo Rodriguez and David Quijano will square off once again on Friday night, All Star Boxing Promotions’ Felix “Tuto” Zabala Jr. confirmed to Ring TV on Wednesday.

The 10-round bout will take place at the Tony Rosa Community Center in Palm Bay, Florida and air on Telemundo. The broadcast will kick off at 11:35 p.m. ET/ PT.

Friday’s bout is a rematch from their June 24 bout, one which Rodriguez won by unanimous decision over 10 rounds.

Rodriguez (14-3, 4 knockouts), who resides in Mexico City, has won his last two bouts since losing by split decision to world title contender David Carmona in October of last year. The 27-year-old Rodriguez is ranked No. 10 by the WBO.



Quijano (16-6-1, 9 KOs), who hails from Caguas, Puerto Rico, has lost four of his last five fights. Including the loss to Rodriguez, Quijano has dropped decisions to Omar Narvaez, Emmanuel Rodriguez and McJoe Arroyo but has scored wins over Juanito Rubillar and Daniel Lozano.

In the eight-round co-feature bout, flyweight contender Joebert Alvarez squares off against Edwin Rodriguez.

Alvarez (15-2-1, 7 KOs) was stopped in his most recent bout by Miguel Cartagena on July 15. The fighter from General Santos City in the Philippines is ranked No. 10 by the IBF.

Rodriguez (8-3, 5 KOs) has lost three of his last four bouts.
