Jose Felix Jr. to face Alan Herrera on Oct. 14

Lightweight contender Jose Felix Jr. will face Alan Herrera on Oct. 14, Top Rank Promotions matchmaker Brad Goodman told RingTV.com Wednesday night. The 10-round bout will take place at Sportsmen’s Lodge in Studio City, California.

UniMas will air the fight, beginning at 11 p.m. ET/ PT.

Felix (34-1-1, 26 knockouts) is coming off a sixth round stoppage victory over Robert Frankel on Aug. 27 in Fallon, Nevada.

He has won his last seven bouts since suffering his only loss as a pro to Bryan Vasquez in April of 2014.



The 24-year-old is ranked among the top five lightweights in two of boxing’s major sanctioning bodies.

Herrera (33-8, 21 KOs) was stopped after the eighth round at the hands of unbeaten Alejandro Luna on Jan. 23. The Mazatlan, Mexico resident has dropped four of his last five bouts.

Also fighting on the Top Rank card, welterweight prospect Egidijus Kavaliauskas (14-0, 12 KOs) will face Cameron Kreal (8-11-2, 1 KO) in an eight-round, non-televised bout.
