Unbeaten featherweight contender Joseph Diaz Jr. and middleweight prospect Jason Quigley have been added to the Canelo Alvarez-Liam Smith undercard on Sept. 17, Golden Boy Promotions CEO Oscar De La Hoya confirmed to RingTV.com on Tuesday afternoon.

Diaz will likely fight on the televised pay-per-view broadcast that will be headlined by the junior middleweight showdown between WBO titleholder Smith and Alvarez.

The fight card will take place at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

De La Hoya was at the Dallas Cowboys training facilities in Oxnard, California on Tuesday afternoon at the invitation of owner Jerry Jones. The Cowboys hold their preseason camp every summer in Oxnard.

De La Hoya took in the action from the sidelines and spoke to the team once practice concluded.

Diaz, who hails from the Los Angeles suburb of South El Monte, is coming off a second round knockout win over Victor Proa on July 30 in Indio, Calif.

The Sept. 17 bout will be the third of 2016 for Diaz (21-0, 12 knockouts), who has expressed interest in fighting again in December.

De La Hoya said an opponent is still being finalized for Diaz.

“We’re still working out the particulars (of Diaz’s opponent),” said De La Hoya.

Quigley (11-0, 9 KOs), who is originally from Donegal, Ireland and now resides in the Los Angeles suburb of Woodland Hills, is coming off a one-sided victory over veteran James De La Rosa on May 7 in Las Vegas.

Quigley will be fighting on the non-televised portion of the Golden Boy Promotions card.
