Lightweight contender Dante Jardon will face Nery Saguilan on Saturday night.

The 12-round bout will take place at the Arena Coliseo in Mexico City, D.F., Mexico. Televisa will broadcast the fight live throughout Mexico.

Jardon (29-5, 22 knockouts) won a 12-round unanimous decision over two-time junior lightweight titleholder Juan Carlos Salgado on March 26. Jardon, who resides in Mexico City, has won his last five bouts.

Jardon is ranked No. 2 by the WBC.

Saguilan (37-6-1, 13 KOs) lost a one-sided 12-round decision to Marcos Villasana Jr. in his last bout on May 28 in Acapulco, Mexico. The loss snapped a 10-bout winning streak for Saguilan.

Saguilan’s most impressive win on his resume is a close 12-round decision over DeMarcus Corley in August of last year.

Also fighting on the Promociones Del Pueblo card, junior welterweight Luis Vidales Gutierrez (9-4, 5 KOs) will square off against Shoki Sakai (21-5, 13 KOs), who has won his last four bouts.

Both fighters reside in Mexico City.
