Terence Crawford dominates Viktor Postol to unanimous decision
Terence Crawford outclassed Viktor Postol en route to a unanimous decision victory on Saturday in Las Vegas. Crawford, who won by scores of 118-107 (twice) and 117-108, won the vacant RING 140-pound title and unified the WBO and WBC belts with the impressive performance.
Crawford (29-0, 29 knockouts) had some trouble with Postol’s height and reach in the early rounds, but began finding his range and rhythm by Round 4 and broke through in Round 5 by dropping the 6-foot Ukrainian twice with counter shots. The 28-year-old Omaha, Nebraska native controlled the second half of the bout with a strong mix of lateral movement and counter punching.
Crawford was the defending WBO titleholder. Postol (28-1, 12 KOs), a 32-year-old Ukraine native based in Los Angeles, was the defending WBC beltholder. They were THE RING’s Nos. 1 and 2 ranked junior welterweights.
The talks is that Crawford, No. 6 in THE RING’s pound for pound ratings, is now in the running to face Manny Pacquiao when the future hall of famer returns in November.
