Junior lightweight Carlos Ruiz returns to action tonight against Sebastian Diaz in a 10-round bout that will take place at the Auditorio Plaza Condesa in Mexico City, DF, Mexico. The bout will air on Telemundo, beginning at 11:35 p.m. ET/ PT.
Ruiz (15-2, 5 KOs) was victorious in his last bout on March 11, a one-sided, 10-round decision over Joel Montes De Oca.
Prior to the Montes de Oca fight, on Dec. 11, the Mexico City resident gave former two-division titleholder Hozumi Hasegawa all he could handle, losing a close, 10-round unanimous decision.
Ruiz is 2-2 in his last four bouts.
Diaz (12-2, 10 KOs), who resides in Aguascalientes, Mexico, won a 12-round unanimous decision over Jose Roberto Gonzalez in his last bout on April 26.
Diaz has won his last four bouts in a row after dropping back-to-back fights.
Six more fights will round out the “Guerra Civil (Civil War)” card.
