Chris Van Heerden rebounded well from his technical-knockout loss to Errol Spence Jr., outfighting Canadian Steve Claggett to a majority decision win in their 10-round welterweight fight Saturday at the Downtown Las Vegas Event Center.

Two of the judges scored the fight 97-93 in favor of Van Heerden (24-2-1, 12 knockouts), while a third had it even at 95-95. The loss snaps a three-fight winning streak for Claggett (23-4-1, 16 KOs), who is 1-3 in fights outside of his native country.

The 28-year-old Van Heerden, a native of Johannesburg, South Africa, who now makes his home in Santa Monica, California, connected with more combinations from his rangy southpaw base to outland the aggressive Claggett.

In other action, junior middleweight Neeco Macias (12-0, 6 KOs) maintained his unbeaten record with a unanimous decision over Limberth Ponce (10-3, 8 KOs). All three judges scored the fight 79-73 for Macias.

The card was televised by CBS Sports Network.
