Lightweight Felix Verdejo will now fight Jose Luis Rodriguez this Saturday night, Top Rank matchmaker Brad Goodman confirmed to RingTV.com.

The 10-round bout will take place at the Coliseo Roberto Clemente in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and will be broadcast on UniMas, beginning at 11 p.m. ET/ PT.

The venue is the same location where Verdejo knocked out Josenilson Dos Santos in the second round on Dec. 11.

Verdejo (20-0, 14 KOs) returned to the ring on Feb. 27, winning a 10-round decision over William Silva in New York City.

Verdejo is slowly becoming the face the Puerto Rico boxing. The San Juan resident has a growing fan base, selling out venues in Puerto Rico and attracting thousands more when he fights along the East Coast in the U.S.

Should Verdejo win on Saturday, word is he will return to the ring on Jun. 11 in New York City on an HBO broadcast. The fight would take place on the eve of the annual Puerto Rican Day Parade.

Rodriguez (18-8, 11 KOs) replaces original opponent Daniel Evangelista, who withdrew from the fight due to tendonitis.

Rodriguez has won his last four bouts. His most notable fights as a pro have been decision losses to gatekeepers Pablo Munguia and Silverio Ortiz.

In the opening bout of the “Solo Boxeo Tecate” broadcast, Christopher Diaz (15-0, 10 KOs), a stablemate of Verdejo, and Ray Ximenez (13-0, 4 KOs) square off in an eight-round featherweight bout.
