Fringe featherweight contender Orlando Del Valle will fight Josh Crespo this Saturday night.
The eight-round bout will take place at Rockingham Park in Salem, New Hampshire.
Del Valle (20-2, 15 knockouts) should be familiar to boxing fans, having fought on network television on four occasions. The Bayamon, Puerto Rico resident secured wins on Showtime in 2011 and 2012, defeating Dat Nguyen and Christopher Martin respectively. Both were decision wins over 10 rounds.
Del Valle took a major step up in opposition in Sept. of 2012 against Vic Darchinyan, losing by unanimous decision.
He suffered his most recent defeat in May of 2014, losing a 10-round decision to Luis Rosa in a fight where Rosa was on the canvas in the fifth round.
Del Valle has won his last two bouts. In his last bout on Nov. 14, Del Valle stopped veteran Juan Jose Beltran in the second round.
Crespo (6-2-3, 2 KOs) is unbeaten in his last four bouts. Also, on Nov. 14, Crespo defeated Jorge Abiague by a close unanimous decision over eight rounds. The win avenged a split decision loss to Abiague earlier in the year.
In the main event of the Big Six Entertainment card, heavyweight Alexis Santos will square off against Daniel Martz in a 10-round rematch of their June 2014 bout. Martz won by knockout after the third round when Santos was unable to continue after suffering from an injured right ankle due to a knockdown in the first round.
