No shame in losing to the best middleweight in boxing. Former IBF titleholder David Lemieux will now take the road back toward world title contention.

Lemieux will fight James De La Rosa this Saturday night at the Olympia Theatre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The 10-round bout will air live on FOX Sports Deportes and on RingTVLive.com, beginning at 10 p.m. ET/ 7 p.m. PT.

It was almost five months ago when Lemieux faced now-IBF/WBA titlist Gennady Golovkin at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Lemieux put up a valiant effort before Golovkin, seen by many as the top middleweight in boxing, stopped him in the eighth round.

Lemieux (34-3, 31 knockouts), who had won nine consecutive bouts prior to the Golovkin fight, is currently ranked No. 4 by THE RING magazine.

“David Lemieux is a powerhouse fighter with star quality, and US audiences will get to see him in the ring again for the first time in 2016 on FOX Deportes, March 12,” said Oscar De La Hoya, Chairman and CEO of Golden Boy Promotions. “His skill and speed will surely be a tough match for ‘King’ James De La Rosa, making for an entertaining fight for the fans.”

Lemieux is managed by Camille Estephan.

De La Rosa (23-3, 13 KOs) has not fought since Dec. of 2014, when he was stopped in the fifth round by Hugo Centeno Jr.

The San Benito, Texas resident is 3-3 in his last six bouts.

Two more fights will round out the broadcast.

Opening the broadcast will be an eight-round bout between super middleweight Schiller Hyppolite and gatekeeper Darnell Boone. Unbeaten junior middleweights Steven Butler and Sladjan Janjanin square off in a 10-round bout.
