WASHINGTON, D.C. — Golden Boy Promotions loaded the Luis Ortiz-Tony Thompson undercard with several East Coast-cased prospects. Super middleweight D’Mitrius Ballard, junior welterweight Zachary Ochoa, featherweight Kevin Rivers, lightweight Damon Allen and light heavyweight Todd Unthank-May notched victories (some hard fought) at the DC Armory.

Ballard (12-0, 8 knockouts), of Washington, D.C., stopped rolly polly Liosvy Mayendo (8-3, 6 KOs) in the first round, dropping the Cuban three times on the strength of well-placed body shots.

Ochoa (14-0, 6 KOs), of Brooklyn, outpointed game Rosabel Montoya (16-7-1, 13 KOs), of Tamaulipas, Mexico, over six rounds by scores of 60-54 (twice) and 59-55.

Rivers (13-1, 9 KOs), of Palmer Park, Maryland, stopped tough Angel Aispuro (6-3-2, 3 KOs), of Sinaloa, Mexico, in the final round of their six rounder due to nasty lacerations on his right ear.

Allen (9-0, 3 KOs), of Philadelphia, outclassed Daniel Perales (6-4-1, 4 KOs), of McCallen, Texas, over six rounds, winning by unanimous shutout scores, but the two lightweights went at it to the delight of the early crowd.

Unthank-May (9-0, 3 KOs), of Philadelphia, scored two knockdowns but had to survives some wobbly moments to outpoint spoiler Alexander Johnson (16-4, 7 KOs) over six rounds by scores of 59-53, 59-55, 58-55.
